Birth Tree Project  - Rotary Margaret River

The Project plants one tree annually in the public open space located at the corner of Tingle Avenue and Hillier Drive, Margaret River, courtesy of the Augusta/Margaret River Shire, to celebrate all registered children born in 2014 and 2015. This initiative creates a dedicated space to reflect on the importance of family. The birth of your child is a momentous occasion. Now your family can celebrate this event with your friends and family in the form of a living monument. Registrations are now open for all children born in 2015.

Your contribution of $30 will ensure that your child’s name will be placed on a plaque placed at the base of the Birth Tree. The plaque is made from recycled plastic. On Sunday 20th March 2022 there will be an unveiling ceremony to honour each participating child.

At the ceremony each child will receive

  • a small certificate confirming their participation in the 2015 Birth Tree Project

  • together with an endemic native plant in tube stock size to plant at home

  • plus a note on how to care for the plant. Once matured the plant will act as a food source for local bird life.

  • Be able to witness their name on the plaque next to the Birth Tree

Rotary promotes and sponsors this project, because it not only teaches children how to take an interest in gardening and care of plants, but introduces them to nature as they will enjoy watching birds feed off their own tree.

It also encourages the planting of trees to benefit the environment.

Registrations close on Sunday 16th January 2022.
