Aid to Nepal
The club is working very closely with the Rotary Club of Pokhara Fishtail, Nepal to get immediate aid to those who have lost everything in the recent earthquake. $4,000 has been sent directly to Nepal. In the last 30 days since the first earthquake members of the Pokhara Fishtail club have utilised $14,000 for urgent humanitarian assistance in the area around Pokhara.
- A reception desk was set up in the city hospital. Injured people and their family and carers are supported with food and medicines. Discharged patients were helped back to their villages.
- Thousands of tarpaulins have been bought at bulk rates and distributed
- Food has been bulk-bought and cooked for people without houses
- In Vachhek, Kaski, 200 tarpaulins were provided for families whose houses were damaged which forced them to stay under open sky.
- The village of Setidovan was devastated. A Rotary convoy took in mattresses, tarpaulins and supplies.
